Accelerating Research Translation

Accelerating Research Translation (ART) Project

The National Science Foundation has created a program known as Accelerating Research Translation (ART). This program provides funding to support institutions that seek to increase the rate of translation of university intellectual property (IP) into societal impacts.

PTIE leaders Carter & Bouwma-Gearhart have been awarded a grant (Award # TIP-2430589) to work specifically with the 18 ART awardee institutions to support their recognition of innovation & entrepreneurship impact by their faculty. This work includes case studies and pilots with ART awardee institutions to explore the effectiveness of changes.

About Research Translation
A graphic design featuring a yellow light bulb with red rays emanating from it. Inside the bulb, there is a map of the United States with the word "POTIE" overlapping it. Below, the word "ART" is written in red with green leaves on either side, and "Oregon State" and the letters "A R T" are written underneath.

Enable recognition of translation

Our approach. Our team at Oregon State University works in partnerships with the ART institutions to support their organizational needs in building capacity for research translation.

We co-develop case studies of their change to discover broader implications in higher education.

New NSF ART Solicitation!

ART Institutions

Many higher education institutions across the U.S. have received ART grants. We partner with these institutions to co-produce knowledge based on their experiences.
